Vocational Training at Zaytun

Idara AL-Khair– Sponsor A Child Program

Idara Al-Khair is a non-profit network of schools located in various under-served areas of Karachi. The NGO currently enrolls over 4,550 students in 8 campuses across the city.

To help with their mission to provide quality and free education, Empower Foundation supports the NGO through various initiatives. One such initiative is the ongoing “Sponsor a Child” program which Empower Foundation has been supporting. Through this initiative, 10Pearls employees take responsibility of a child’s education and basic needs, and help them improve their future. Currently over 500 children are fully sponsored and supported by the collective efforts of Empower Foundation and 10Pearls employees. 

Zaytun Winter Drive

To help the needy stay warm in Winter, Empower Foundation conducted a Winter Drive at Zaytun – a purpose-built facility that provides daily, fresh and subsidized meals as well as employment opportunities in the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan.

The Indus Hospital

Coronavirus has affected more than 307,000 people in Pakistan, with many patients reaching a critical stage. Empower Foundation recently joined hands with The Indus Hospital (TIH) to fight the battle against Coronavirus, and help save valuable lives.

Deaf Reach School

In Pakistan, there are over one million deaf children, out of which only 5% have access to education. Deaf Reach School, a project of Family Educational Services Foundation, is committed to deliver quality education to deaf children. It currently provides academic and vocational training to over 1,250 deaf children and adolescents, and has schools in various cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Lahore and Jhelum.

Simpson PTO 5K Stampede & 1 Mile Fun Run

Mr. J. Lupton Simpson was an educator in Loudoun County for 39 years. He was instrumental in propagating the middle school concept in this area, which needed to cater to its growing student population. This concept was finally realized in the 1971-1972 academic year, four years after Mr. Simpson’s passing. The present building was finally completed in 1976, and was named and dedicated J. Lupton Simpson Middle School, a fitting and appropriate memorial to a man whose life was education. In all the different schools he taught and administered at, the entire student body and broader community demonstrated their great admiration and and very high respect for Mr. Simpson.

Solar-Powered Water System In Tharparkar

The Tharparkar District in Sindh, Pakistan, spans over 22,000 square kilometers and has a population of 1.65 million. The District faces acute shortage of water, with annual rainfall averaging as low as 9mm, and drought a common occurrence.
